Banyan Group is closing in on its 100th property with momentum across Asia, Africa, and Europe, continuing its expansion in purpose-driven luxury hospitality.
A milestone year for Banyan Group
Banyan Group, formerly Banyan Tree Holdings, will celebrate the grand opening of its 100th hotel this November with Mandai Rainforest Resort in Singapore. The milestone marks a symbolic homecoming and will be commemorated with a week-long celebration and charity festival.
“The first half of 2025 reflects not only the growth of our footprint, but also our belief that hospitality should offer more than just a place to stay,”
Eddy See, President and CEO of Banyan Group, said.
“It’s about something authentic shaped by thoughtful design, cultural depth, and genuine care. As we grow, we remain committed to using travel as a force for positive change and to deepening meaning, not just expanding presence.”
Expanding in East Africa with first safari resort
Banyan Group’s first foray into safari hospitality will debut with Ubuyu, A Banyan Tree Escape, opening in late 2025 in Ruaha National Park, Tanzania. The eco-luxury retreat will feature six artisan villas, private plunge pools, and immersive cultural and wildlife experiences, blending traditional Maasai architecture with sustainable design.
20 years of impact in China
Celebrating two decades in China, Banyan Group continues expanding with new openings like Banyan Tree Zhuhai Phoenix Bay, Angsana Zhoushan, and Homm Wenzhou Nanxijiang. A new clean water project in Lijiang will mark the anniversary, supported by the Banyan Environmental and Community Fund in partnership with the China Environmental Protection Foundation.
30 years in the Maldives
Banyan Group was recently honored by the Government of the Maldives to mark 30 years since the opening of its pioneering eco-luxury resort, Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru. The award recognized the Group’s long-term sustainability impact and partnership with the island nation.
New growth across Southeast Asia
The first Garrya property in Vietnam—Garrya Mu Cang Chai—opened in the terraced hills of the north, and the upcoming launch of Homm Mandaue Cebu will grow Banyan Group’s urban footprint in the Philippines.
Expanding Banyan Tree Gallery and residences
Banyan Tree Gallery, the Group’s artisan-led retail concept, is now featured onboard China Airlines, adding to existing inflight partnerships with Emirates, EVA Air, and Starlux.
On the residential front, Banyan Tree Padilla Madrid Residences mark the brand’s debut in Europe, while Banyan Tree Beach Residences Oceanus launched in Laguna Phuket to meet growing demand in luxury island real estate. Sales teams in the UAE and Saudi Arabia now support high demand from the Middle East.

In the past six months, Banyan Group has received more than 100 industry honors, including 20+ wins in the Travel + Leisure Luxury Awards Asia Pacific 2025.
