This winter, Aspen Snowmass will feature the iconic work of Ed Ruscha on its lift tickets and ski passes, blending culture and adventure for all 2025-26 visitors.
A celebrated tradition continues
For over two decades, Aspen Snowmass has turned lift tickets into canvases for world-class art. This season, Ruscha joins as the featured lift ticket artist, sharing his signature blend of wit, words, and stunning visuals—recognized in leading museums from MoMA and The Whitney to Tate Modern and LACMA.
Making art part of every visit
Ruscha’s participation in the Art in Unexpected Places (ArtUP) program brings art to every slope-goer, reflecting Aspen’s commitment to creativity and environmental stewardship.
“It is an honor to welcome such a celebrated artist to Aspen One’s ArtUP program,” Dave Tanner, President and CEO of Aspen One said. “As one of the most influential contemporary artists of our time, Ruscha’s work is thought-provoking and boundary-pushing. His contribution to our lift ticket art program aligns with our company’s commitment to showcasing contemporary art in line with the legacy of the Aspen Idea and the community as a thriving and influential center of arts and culture. We are grateful to Ed for his partnership as this program continues to grow and evolve.”
A lasting cultural legacy
The ArtUP initiative is rooted in the “Aspen Idea”—balancing mind, body, and spirit—and aims to make art spontaneous, accessible, and part of Aspen’s daily experience. This collaboration also strengthens Aspen One’s commitment to the arts, reaffirming the region’s global reputation for creativity.
