John Lewis Adds 100 New Fashion Brands

John Lewis is ramping up its fashion offering this autumn, adding 100 new menswear and womenswear brands in a bid to boost clothing sales and rejuvenate its high street presence.

More brands, bigger ambitions at John Lewis

John Lewis currently stocks around 650 brands, but its latest expansion brings fresh options across all price points. Featured names include luxury house Mulberry with an exclusive collection of 25 bags and accessories, Japanese outdoor brand Snowpeak, Newcastle designer Nigel Cabourn, and premium labels Akyn, By Malene Birger, and Iro.

Peter Ruis, Managing Director, said:
“This strategy is about giving shoppers even more reasons to shop in our brilliant stores,” said  Peter Ruis. He has dedicated £800 million to refurbishments, hiring staff, and upgrading the Waitrose grocery arm.

Doubling revenue and focusing on quality

John Lewis aims to increase clothing revenue from £1.2 billion to £2.5 billion by expanding its brand range and rolling out its largest ever own-label cashmere collection, with the goal of boosting cashmere sales by at least 20% this year. “The sky is the limit,” Ruis told The Telegraph, as he mapped out the plan to grow the retailer’s stagnant 1.5% clothing market share.

A refreshed fashion future

With wider assortments, modernised stores, and elevated own-brand offerings, John Lewis hopes to recapture momentum in the fashion market and reinforce its position as a leader on the British high street.
