SPRK has brought new immersive lighting to Miniland at the newly opened LEGOLAND® Resort in Shanghai, blending creative technology with detailed LEGO® cityscapes.
Lighting brings every LEGO® landmark to life
Miniland—a signature experience at every LEGOLAND® park—features intricate LEGO® models recreating famous Chinese landmarks. For the Shanghai opening, SPRK collaborated with Merlin Entertainments and Merlin Magic Making to design dynamic lighting effects, theatrical show cycles, and advanced control systems, enhancing both the storytelling and magic of the miniatures.

Integrated innovation delivers a world-class experience
The project included pixel-controllable lighting embedded inside LEGO® models, adding new layers of depth and interaction. LEGOLAND Shanghai marks the LEGO® brand’s first full-scale resort in China and is one of Merlin’s biggest projects in Asia.
