Travelers arriving in Santo Domingo can now enjoy a smoother Uber experience, thanks to new dedicated pickup zones at Las Américas International Airport.
Uber has introduced clear signage and two designated pickup points just outside the terminal at Las Américas International Airport. This update aims to make arrivals easier for both international visitors and locals, as the Uber app’s popularity continues to rise in the Dominican Republic.
International demand is strong, with riders from over 120 countries using Uber in the past quarter alone. The new system features separate pickup areas for Uber Select and for standard Uber services like Comfort and UberXL.

Expanding Mobility and Local Partnerships
Uber’s initiative also includes a partnership with a local tourist taxi company, allowing affiliated drivers to register under Uber Select and expanding the fleet of high-comfort vehicles.
“The changes reflect growing demand for rideshare services across Latin America, where travelers increasingly rely on services like Uber to move between airports, hotels, beaches, and city centers,” confirmed Santillán.
Uber is available in Punta Cana and throughout the Dominican Republic. In other tourist hotspots like Puerto Rico, Cartagena, Cancún, Jamaica, and Costa Rica, Uber continues to be a top choice for travelers.
