Vail Resorts just confirmed winter 2025/26 opening dates and new experiences for skiers and riders.
Vail Resorts Targeted Opening
Vail Resorts just shared target opening dates for its Rocky Mountain, West, and European resorts, marking the countdown to another long season that runs into May at Breckenridge and Whistler Blackcomb. Keystone kicks off as early as October (conditions permitting), followed by major resorts in North America and Switzerland throughout November, with Crans-Montana opening November 29 and several California and Colorado resorts not far behind.
Epic Pass: ski more days and bring your friends
The Epic Pass now offers access to more than 90 resorts worldwide and is available at its lowest fall price until September 1. New this year, “Epic Friend Tickets” let pass holders buy up to 6–10 half-price lift tickets for friends, who can redeem them at 37 North American resorts and even apply their ticket cost towards a future pass.
What’s new on the mountain—and beyond
This season, guests can expect upgrades across Vail Resorts’ portfolio:
- Whistler Blackcomb celebrates its 60th anniversary with Wonder Routes—special trails and experiences to explore the best of the mountain, plus a lively village scene and après-ski festivities.
- Park City Mountain debuts the brand-new Sunrise Gondola for faster, more reliable access from Canyons Village, along with improved beginner terrain and a revitalized kids’ Ski and Ride School area, complete with the fun Orange Bubble Bite treat.
- Colorado resorts launch a new My Epic app feature for ski school, making it easier for parents and students to check in, track progress, and celebrate achievements with digital badges—no paper required.
- Keystone Resort introduces Kindred Resort, Colorado’s newest ski-in, ski-out luxury development at River Run Village, bringing a RockResorts-branded hotel, slopeside retail, and a new home for the ski school.
- Breckenridge hosts high-energy events and competitions, with concert series and more to be announced.
- Milestone anniversaries arrive at Heavenly (70 years), Okemo (70 years), and Liberty (60 years) with special celebrations planned.
- In Switzerland, Andermatt-Sedrun-Disentis adds two new chairlifts for more uphill capacity, and Crans-Montana upgrades snowmaking with new energy-efficient snow guns.
Resorts will also mark the Olympic year with headline competitions, like Birds of Prey at Beaver Creek—an Olympic qualifier in December—and the World Ski and Snowboard Fest in Whistler Blackcomb in April.
